Bernie Czarkowski was presented, on December 14th, with the Ohio District One, as well as the Fr. Louis Hennepin Province Sir Knight of the Year Award for his work with veterans from the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. Over the past several years, with our area Knights of Columbus help and monetary assistance, the veterans were provided pizza at some of the VA Bingo Nights, along with serving several good wholesome meals at several of our area churches. Once a year, the Knights are able to provide these veterans a meal of ballpark food, while enjoying watching the Akron Rubber Ducks.
