Scrapping for Charity

Brother Knights John Beltrano and Jim Sugalski came up with a great idea for generating funds for Council 13517 that can be used to benefit the many programs and charities supported, scrap metal.

John, owner & operator of Shiny Side Up in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, runs a garage that repairs automobiles, both mechanically and collision-related. With such repairs come metal waste by way of parts and scraps, that typically get thrown out. Putting their heads together, John and Jim decided this scrap could be put to better use.

Now, once John has a volume of scrap metal, Jim takes it to a location to convert the metal into dollars. This great idea creates a revenue stream that benefits all programs supported by Knights of Columbus Council 13517.
